Joseph is a member of the Northern Ute Tribe and grew up on the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation. He is now studying political science at Salt Lake Community College. Joseph has made an impact at the college through his involvement with the American Indian Student Leadership club, which includes advocating for land acknowledgement and getting more resources for Native American students.
