Hailing from the humble Midwest, Kyle moved to Utah three and a half years ago and immediately enrolled at Salt Lake Community College to complete his associate’s of science in communication, which he’ll finish in May 2024. He started as a staff writer at SLCC’s The Globe, in February 2023, and recently stepped up to be an assistant editor. Moving from strategic communications into journalism was precipitated by his involvement with the paper and an internship with KRCL 90.9 FM in Salt Lake City last spring, where he was able to tell diverse stories and foster his passion for amplifying voices. When he’s not writing, or stressing about not writing, he’s probably playing with his two rescue animals, a canine named Whiskey and a feline named Mila.
