Women's Sports
From basketball's Caitlin Clark to rugby's Ilona Maher and 92,000 fans at a Cornhuskers volleyball game to two billion worldwide viewers of the World Cup, there's no question women's sports has shifted from a moment to a movement. This collaborative initiative between Amplify Utah, the University of Utah's Department of Communication and KRCL 90.9 explores this transformative landscape. Student journalists from the "Voices of Utah" capstone course produced original reporting that examines various aspects of women's athletics — from professional leagues to youth sports, marketing strategies to financial challenges. Their stories capture the evolving world of sports journalism through community-engaged storytelling, with stories published and aired across partner platforms to inform Utah audiences about this pivotal period in women's sports.
This is some of their work
